# Under 17 Car Club
The Under 17 Car Club is a unique driving experience provider based in Chippenham that introduces young people to vehicle control and road safety skills from age 11, well before they reach the legal driving age of 17. Operating across multiple prestigious locations including Castle Combe Circuit, MOD Lyneham, RAF South Cerney and Bovington Tank Track, the club offers something genuinely different from traditional driving instruction.
Members gain access to up to 34 driving events annually, providing approximately 34 hours of practical vehicle experience per year. The club goes far beyond standard cars, enabling young drivers to experience 4×4s, vans, lorries, coaches and buses in controlled, safe environments. This hands-on approach builds genuine competence and confidence before young drivers face real road conditions.
What sets the Under 17 Car Club apart is its emphasis on inclusive, enjoyable learning through exciting activities at varied locations. Rather than classroom-based theory, members develop essential skills through practical, real-world experience with different vehicle types and driving conditions. The rotating weekend venues maintain engagement and expose participants to diverse driving scenarios.
The club's Pathfinder Initiative specifically supports 15 to 17-year-olds, bridging the gap towards independent driving. With membership priced at approximately £1 per driving day, the club offers exceptional value for comprehensive vehicle experience and safety education.
